This is less than both the state average of $3,988 and the national average of $4,300. North Carolina and Tennessee communities both cost more at $3,800 and $4,039, while those in Georgia cost $100 less per month.
Assisted living prices in South Carolina vary widely, and the cost in North Charleston falls in the middle. On the coast, Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head have average costs of $4,620 and $5,475. Near the center of the state in Columbia, seniors pay around $4,299 per month. Greenville and Sumter have some of the lowest costs at $2,800 and $2,200.
