Nestled in a quiet neighborhood towards the northern edge of Sarasota, Orchard Place of Sarasota’s residents live in quiet surroundings with a local grocery store, pharmacy, restaurants and churches within walking distance. Sarasota is also just an hour south of Tampa Bay, so seniors have access to some of the area’s top entertainment and attractions.
A nonprofit community, Orchard Place of Sarasota seeks to provide a safe, home-like environment for seniors aged 62 and older with limited resources. It features 40 private studio apartments, which are handicap accessible for seniors with disabilities. Bilingual staff members are available to assist with home maintenance and coordinating on-site nail services, massages and other therapeutic services.

Orchard Place of Sarasota features a variety of amenities to help create a community atmosphere among residents. A large community room offers a space for residents to socialize and serves as a site for events such as potlucks and holiday parties. There’s also a landscaped outdoor area where seniors can garden or host a cook-out for friends and family. Community-led activities and clubs create opportunities for residents to stay active and socially engaged. These include yoga classes, game nights, book club and pet therapy. Handicap-accessible transportation is available when residents need to run errands or attend appointments.
