As we toured this facility, we were delighted to observe the interaction between residents and staff members. Some vibrant residents even called out from their rooms to say hello to the admissions’ coordinator, who led our tour. Rooms are semiprivate, accommodating up to four people in each. A bed and a side table are provided for everyone, and in the short-term stay unit, there’s a TV next to every bed. Some rooms overlook the patio, while others have a less stimulating view of the parking lot. The shower room operates on a schedule, with two shower days allotted weekly for each resident. The schedule is flexible if anyone needs more bathing time.
The interior décor is tasteful and elegant. A comfortable seating area in the lobby features a dark wood coffee table and seating. Silk flower arrangements brighten every nursing station, and striking artwork lines the walls. Two dining rooms, one for residents who require feeding assistance, sit on the second floor. Framed prints and mirrors enhance both rooms. In addition to four cats, the facility houses chirping birds in a large cage outside the dining room, as well as fish in a colorful aquarium. Patio access on the second floor provides shaded seating for visits with family members. From this vantage point, the outlook is quite pleasant. Flowerbeds and potted plants brighten the building’s exterior, which rests on a nice, quiet street.
