Aegis Living Fremont

Áegis of Fremont is located just off of Highway 880, across from the Fremont Hub shopping center and just minutes from a Target. A portico extends over potted trees and bench seating in the entry. The receptionist greets visitors in the hotel-like lobby, which features a floor-to-ceiling fireplace. Decorative artifacts, floral arrangements and hanging paintings are peppered throughout. The two secured Alzheimer’s units, affectionately known as “Life’s Neighborhood,” are located in separate wings.

Residents’ spacious rooms, which they decorate themselves, receive abundant natural light. Meals are served restaurant-style in the main dining room; a private dining room may be reserved for special occasions. The chef prepares a range of international delicacies including pork adobo, fried oysters, prime rib, leg of lamb, chicken tamales and wonton soup, in addition to classics such as burgers and pizza. Life’s Neighborhood residents enjoy similar entrées in a separate dining area. The kitchen staff offers alternative choices and accommodates special requests. Residents enjoy a weekly happy hour, also in the dining area.

The expansive courtyard features a smooth carpeting of grass dotted with shrubbery and tall trees. The comfortable patio furniture attracts many group socials. Broad windows and French doors allow plentiful natural light throughout the building. Personal decorations and potted plants outside residents’ doors add a homelike quality. Boxes of memorabilia and personal items are situated outside of each door in Life’s Neighborhood.
