Care costs tend to be cheaper in nearby states, including Oregon, where assisted living fees average $4,659 per month. In Arizona and Nevada, rates are even more budget-friendly at $3,900 and $3,595, respectively. Utah is the cheapest nearby state for assisted living, with local facilities charging $3,400 per month.
Assisted living rates in Mountain View are on the higher end of the price range in California at $6,100. However, the city is an affordable alternative to Napa and Salinas, where facilities charge an average of $6,250 and $7,100, respectively. Care in the Los Angeles area is consistent with the state median at $5,000. In Riverside, seniors pay $3,900, and in Bakersfield, assisted living rates are among the lowest in the state at $3,613.
