Genworth Financial’s 2021 Cost of Care Survey reports that the average monthly price of assisted living care in Tallahassee is $4,650.
Seniors are paying about $4,650 per month for assisted living, making the city $150 more expensive than the U.S. average of $4,500 and $650 more expensive than the Florida average of $4,000.
The lowest prices for assisted living are in Gainesville, which is roughly half as expensive as Tallahassee at $2,350 a month. The cities of Lakeland, at $3,300 a month, and Tampa, at $3,350, undercut Tallahassee by roughly $1,300 a month. Average prices are closer to Tallahassee’s in the panhandle city of Pensacola, where seniors can expect to pay $4,323 a month, and in the peninsula cities of Cape Coral and Miami, where seniors pay about $316 and $265 less per month than Tallahassee.
