Average assisted living costs in South Carolina, however, are several hundred dollars cheaper than those of neighboring states North Carolina ($3,800), Georgia ($3,500), Florida ($3,700) and Tennessee ($4,039).
While the costs of assisted living in South Carolina vary greatly, Rock Hill’s averages remain near the top. In the state capital of Columbia, monthly costs average $4,299. Sumter costs $2,200 a month and Greenville $2,800. Charleston costs $3,600 a month, and the tourist destinations of Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head Island are $4,620 and $5,475 a month, respectively.
