Lake Wire Retirement Center We are family owned and have been in business since 1982 under the same ownership and at the same location in downtown Lakeland, on the shores of Lake Wire. The facility is within one mile of Lakeland Regional Medical Center and is also close to shopping, Lakeland Civic Center, banks, stores, parks and bus lines. We are an Assisted Living Facility, licensed by the State of Florida with the additional License designation “Limited Mental Health.” We specialize in taking care of adults of all ages with mental disorders who are ambulatory and non-violent. We are well known and complimented for our focus on personal, caring attention to the residents’ special needs. Our friendly, stable staff of Personal Care Assistants have received training in Mental Health Care, CPR/ First Aid and Assisting with Self-Administration of Medication.

Upon entering our facility each resident becomes part of our family. We watch out for their general well being and personal hygiene. Included in our affordable monthly rates are all meals, laundry, and general housekeeping. We supervise medications and arrange transportation to and from medical appointments. Additional security is provided by a 24 hour-multiple camera system. We handle all paperwork associated with Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security or VA. Neither the resident nor family needs to be concerned with this confusing paperwork. We have a network of contacts. Physicians and Psychiatrists visit the facility on a weekly or “as needed” basis to consult with our residents. Case Managers, Mental Health Professionals, Home Health Staff, Pharmacists, Guardians, Advocates, Law Enforcement Personnel and Local Court Representatives are on call to provide any additional assistance.
