Greenleaf Nursing and Convalescent Home may be humble in appearance, but it is rich in personality. The beauty of this facility lies in its upbeat and involved staff. Staff members impressed us as genuinely caring, kind and professional. The admissions director, who is also a nurse, validated our observation with proud remarks about her staff, who never hesitate to “come running” when needed.
This ranch-style facility forms a square with a pleasant courtyard at its center—a safe area with lots of picnic tables for relaxing and visiting. An interesting rock garden and a tree with tiny white lights occupy the lobby. The décor throughout the facility is tasteful, with patterned wallpaper and coordinating lavender borders. Nurses’ stations are situated at each wing for close accessibility to residents. The bedrooms are spacious with excellent natural light and courtyard views. Most of the rooms are doubles and furnished, although there is plenty of room for personal items including chairs, lamps and wall hangings. The generously sized dining room moonlights as an activity area for popular events like bingo. Chandeliers reveal the lavender theme in the tablecloths and napkins. Residents who require eating assistance take their meals in the therapy room. An attractive activity room boasts a big satellite TV and library with large-print books and magazines. Comfy furniture invites residents to sit and enjoy a good tome. Upcoming activities and events are posted just outside this area. Many windows throughout the facility lend a spacious air and lots of natural lighting.
