Firelands Transitional Care is an acute inpatient rehab center affiliated with Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky, OH. The facility is located on Hayes Avenue a few miles south of the Sandusky Bay waterfront. In addition to treatment at the medical center, residents can seek nearby care at the Bellevue Hospital or Magruder Hospital, which are both less than 30 minutes away.
Firelands Transitional Care is designed for patients recovering from surgical procedures and hospital stays. Residents receive at least 15 hours of weekly rehabilitation with specialized physical, occupational and speech therapists. Physicians provide medical management and registered nurses are on site 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The facility has a patient-staff ratio of one RN or LPN for every 10 patients, compared to the state maximum ratio of 1 to 15.

Firelands has four semi-private patient rooms and 26 private rooms, all with private showers. Amenities include a common kitchen and laundry area, modern gym, restaurant-style dining room, bariatric suites and patient and family living room for visits. Additional amenities include Wi-Fi, newspaper delivery service, housekeeping, cable TV, and recreational activities such as social events and arts and crafts.
