The Memory Care Residences at Rochester Presbyterian Home is a community of four residences that exemplify the mission, philosophy and vision of elder care. The Eden Alternative philosophy advocates for placing elder’s needs first. The homes have 14 bedrooms and a porch, courtyard and garden for elders to enjoy. The Shahbazim assist the elders in their personal care and offer opportunities for them to connect with others. They also make the meals in each home while staff members provide clinical support to the family of elders in each residence. The Eden Alternative is founded on principles that promote dignity, respect and love for all people living there including those who are living with dementia. With this philosophy as a guide, elders will grow through their environment, which provides meaning to life by eliminating loneliness, helplessness and boredom.
