Ridge Road curves gently past the grassy knolls and colorful flowerbeds of Summer Ridge’s lovely entrance. Although located in a quiet residential area, it neighbors a major shopping center with retail shopping, a grocery store, nail salon and theater. The foyer is a striking display of cherrywood tables, contemporary green and maroon couches, hanging chandeliers, a handmade tapestry and a grandfather clock. The hallways are decorated with fresh floral arrangements in oriental vases and hanging impressionist lithographs.
Residents’ rooms are especially bright and airy. Each has large windows and extra storage space. Residents furnish to suit their tastes. The dining area is equipped with tables for four, strategically spaced to accommodate residents using wheelchairs. The soothing mauve and green color scheme creates a serene dining atmosphere. The kitchen staff prepares a healthy and appetizing menu featuring selections such as beef burgundy, butternut squash, steak fingers with gravy, and lemon cake. The soup, sandwich and pizza menu provides lighter alternatives.
Residents gather in the common area for social hour and various activities. Plush couches and chairs are arranged in a U-shape in front of the big-screen TV—perfect for popcorn and movie nights! Residents stay busy with bingo, arts and crafts, fitness programs, painting classes, board games and holiday activities. The secured patio and courtyard features lush greenery and birdlife. Residents enjoy outdoor barbeques and lounging on comfy patio furniture. A lovely walkway curves through bright gardens of rainbow-colored flowers. The residents were quite neighborly with each other and seemed very comfortable around the staff, with whom they were quick to strike up conversations. The cheerful energy at Summer Ridge is absolutely infectious.
